01.06.2018 – June LGBT Pride Month – U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg

June has been designated LGBT Pride because of the Stonewall riots which occurred in June 1969. Every year during his tenure President Obama has issued a proclamation declaring June to be LGBT Pride Month and the State Department has marked it in many ways. 2015, the Embassy flew the LGBT pride flag for the first time and made U.S. Embassy Luxembourg the first foreign embassy to fly the flag in Luxembourg. This year Ambassador McKean will raise the flag together with the advocacy group, Rosa Lëtzebuerg like they did in 2016 and 2017.
